BarCamp Saigon

BarCampSaigon Winter 2011 is coming soon! What can you expect this time around? Like previous BarCamps there will be sessions, collaboration, free food, and t-shirts! All that and more could be found at the recently held MobileDevCamp, which was billed as a brother to BarCamp and involved some of the same people.

MobileDevCamp was held at Bach Khoa University in District 11, quite far from RMIT where BarCampSaigon will be held. RMIT’s modern facilities means there will be air conditioning in all rooms. As BarCamp is behind held on a Sunday, no class will be in session and we will have full control of the rooms for the entire day.

MobileDevCamp, unlike BarCamp, also had a hackathon component which took up most of the time. This year, 19 teams competed to build mobile applications over the course of 24 hours. To read more about the hackathon and my experience working as a team, read the full blog post at saigonist.com.

We hope that many of the same participants who joined MobileDevCamp will join us in a week for BarCampSaigon as there will surely be people giving sessions on mobile app development!
